I’ve come to the end of my course at Koenig in Goa

I’d been thinking about coming here to do a course for a few years and this year I finally decided to take the plunge and study for my MCDBA and MCTS: Business Intelligence certifications to back up the industry experience I have accumulated over the years.

After back packing around the North of India ten years ago I was a bit apprehensive about coming back, but the cost of the course is so much cheaper and the cost of living is so much lower than the UK so it was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up (I’ve spent approx £50 per week since arriving and basically bought whatever I needed).


On arrival in Mumbai I was disappointed to have been ripped off by the taxi driver. So a tip is to make sure you get a pre-paid taxi from the airport that way you’ll pay 170 rupees to get to the local hotel if you’re staying over night.

Arriving in Goa could not have been a more different experience!

I was met at Goa airport by Koenig Driver, who was to become my driver for the next three weeks. He handed me a welcome pack on arrival which contained 1000 rupees and a welcome guide with phone numbers, addresses, etc, which was a good touch as this gave me money till I could change some more and some info about what was where, etc.

I was driven to an apartment in Goa where I met up with other students from Singapore and Australia who were studying for other certifications. By western standards, the apartment is excellent – air conditioning, large rooms, TV, communal computer, Internet, etc.

As my new flatmates and I were all in the same boat it made for a great atmosphere and I felt settled in no time and began my studies shortly after.

Its worth pointing out that this is definitely not a holiday as I spent most of my nights revising for exams and reading extra books to increase my knowledge of Microsoft Business Intelligence tools.

I found the training from both of my teachers to be excellent and I am pleased to say that they’ve been able to answer all my questions. I’m also pleased that I had absolutely no trouble in understanding my teachers as this was another concern I had before coming out. Their English is perfect.

I also arranged for my girlfriend to meet me for the last week of my course before we went backpacking in Thailand, and again, this was handled with total efficiency and nothing was a problem for the Goa centre manager to arrange! From transport to Hotel & school and from Goa airport, flights, overnight stay in Mumbai and even for a Microsoft Office course for my girlfriend to take.

Judging by their website, Koenig have been around a few years now and trained quite a few students and when you get here this is apparent by the smooth transition from being met at Goa airport to taking my first MCP exam. I would not hesitate in recommending Koenig and I would suggest, if you haven’t done so already, to read through other peoples testimonials too to get a feel for Koenig in Goa.

I will come away from this experience very happy in the knowledge I achieved what I came out to do.

I’ll definitely come back for another course next year!
