I have just completed an intensive 6 weeks of study and successfully completed my RHCE (Red Hat Certified Engineer). I took the course at Dehradun which is Koenig’s newest and largest training centre. The training centre is located in a very quiet location at the foot of the Himalayas and perfect conditions for studying.
I stayed at the Service Apartments which is a convenient 5 minute walk away from the training centre. This is very useful if you want to arrive at the centre slightly earlier in the morning or stay later in the afternoon without having to rely on the fixed taxi schedule. The service apartments were very comfortable and fitted with all the mod cons including air conditioning. The food was very good and the cooks will go out of their way to vary their menu on request.
The course itself was based on official Red Hat curriculum and I was very impressed by my trainer. He explained each and every topic very clearly and was very patient with all my questions. My trainer would ensure I understood each and every concept before moving on to the next and would never spoon feed me with the answers. Beware people choosing “Fast Track” you really need background experience for this course. For me I wanted time to go over everything in detail and without being rushed therefore opted for “Regular Track”.
I am also thinking of coming back again to do my RHCSS with my RHCE trainer only in few months.
The exam is a gruelling lab based exam but with my trainer's training I felt confident and was ready to take the exam. After my exam I am having a experience lab with my trainer and its good to integrate all the servers and implement them with different scenarios. I am bit more confident after the experience lab with my Linux skills.
Final compliment to my trainer was for his famous fish curry which I will never forget. As well as a competent trainer on red hat he serves up some excellent food !!
