Well, my first experience of
Shimla was arriving at the railway station in early Feb, dressed suitably (not!) in shorts, a t-shirt and flip flops. Clearly I had not read the paperwork thoroughly enough as Shimla is in the Himalayas and it was winters!
Nevertheless, after that brief self-inflicted glitch, I soon settled in. Shimla is a beautiful place and, the staff at the new centre, led by Praveen, cannot do enough for you – a special thank you also goes out to Raju (the chef etc etc), who looks after your every needs.
So, what about me – prior to arriving at Shimla, I had spent 24 years in the Royal Navy and had only really dabbled with IT. I decided at 40ish! to start a new career and enrolled to undertake
CompTIA A+, N+, MCSE Server 2003 and
VMWare VSphere4.
All my training was booked as
1-on-1 and the ‘journey’ would take me two and a half months in total. However, as I had been advised by friends in the UK, the Koenig trainers are the best and my trainers were no exception. Their efforts and commendable patience whilst teaching me meant that I passed all my exams and I now look forward, hopefully, to a successful second career in IT.
