I have just finished an intensive four weeks of study and successfully completed my MCPD (.NET Web Developer). I chose Dehradun because I read that it was a new centre and I imagined it would be cooler and quieter than Delhi. From speaking to others who have been to Delhi, it turns out I made a good decision. Staying in the serviced apartments also meant that I could walk to and from the office five minutes away and not be tied to the taxi timetable. I even joined in with a game of street cricket while making my way home one evening.
Living and working here is not for the faint-hearted; India is a developing country and the conditions are not the same as you experience back home – power-cuts were a continuous source of irritation. I made a lot of good friends from all over the world while I was here and as you can imagine, the main topic of conversation at mealtimes was exams. For those on fast-track course there seems to be an exam every other day so bear this in mind when considering which pace to go at – you really do need to have some background experience. For me, the training was to enable a change of career so I opted for the regular track and even that seemed too fast at times.
The staff at the office were very helpful and friendly and addressed all the issues, every small bit of a problem is taken care of .The staff at the apartment were similarly good, they cooked my meals, cleaned the room, and laundered my clothes and I am very grateful to them all for their untiring hard work seven days a week.
Last but by no means least I must thank my teacher, who impressed and inspired me with her ability to answer every question I threw at her no matter how inane, and her deep knowledge of the subject. I would definitely consider using Koenig in the future – even now I’m thinking of a .NET 3.5 upgrade maybe next year.
