Right I guess a little about me would be helpful for this bio. I’ve been in I.T a while started in 1994 and now I find that’s it’s 2009 heading to 2010 and the world of Windows for Workgroups has come and gone, 286’s are happily a thing of the past; and global recession is ploughing it’s way through Europe and Britain. Anyway I work for myself and the last time I took any certification was in 1997 so I thought it was about time I took some, given the way things are going I thought if I need to take a Job or find a permanent contract then having some recent exams can’t be bad. I had a look at some courses in the UK but they were way out of my price range. A quick search on the internet soon showed me several Koenig-solutions links (Clever Koenig you’ve really thought about your SEO). I had a chat to some friends and asked if anyone knew them and I had a reply; yes loved the course stayed in Goa had a great time and the training was excellent, which basically made my mind up

I decided on the MCSE 2003 Messaging course, on the basis that most of my clients use this and given I use it most of the time, I should have a head start; at the same time I wanted to experience something of India so there was no point doing the Fast track or the Super fast; why put myself under any time constraints? Personally I believe standard track is the way forward even if you have experience, less stress and more time to go through parts of 2003 that maybe you don’t see at work normally.

I can’t recommend my Instructor highly enough, if I owned a training company in the UK, I’d employ him - I don’t, so sorry mate looks like you’ll have to come on holiday to the UK now J He is Professional, Personable, Methodical very knowledgeable and fun, which makes the whole 8 weeks of training go very well. Let’s face it the last thing you want is to be in a training room 6 days a week and with a totally serious trainer.

I decided to do my training in Shimla on the advice of a well travelled friend. He asked when I was starting (Mid June) and his advice was go to Shimla. Delhi is as hot as Hades, Goa is Hot Humid and Empty (In June - September) and Dehradrun is hot and humid.  His advice was spot on. I arrived at 7 am and Delhi was already 33 degrees, being a Brit and used to hot being 22 or 23, then the 42 degrees it ended up that day was a tad much for me, however I must say there was air con, so if you don’t mind hot then Delhi is cheaper.  Personally I really like Shimla and I’m glad I decided to stay here. I chose to stay in the apartment not just because it’s cheaper, but because staying in a hotel room for 8 weeks would turn anyone into a very sad nobby no mates – Whereas being in the apartment has always been entertaining, even if the living arrangements are a bit basic. There again I’m not here for luxury. It’s the people who were in the apartment who made it what it is. I really should thank the two David’s, Lou, the Crazy Dutch guys (You know who you are) Catherine, Marco, Adam and many more; it was a real pleasure. 

In Summary I can highly recommend Koenig, they’re amazingly helpful, you’re met at the airport, driven to where you need to be, someone looks after you at the train station, they will arrange an Indian mobile Sim if you need one (It’s not that simple in India), basically if you need something sorting, it is organised for you – In short they take very good care of you and in my opinion this is their great selling point, as an example we had a problem with slow internet access here in the apartment we spoke to Koenig and they sorted it, job done as we say in Blighty.
